Max Verstappen Orange Army Poster


This poster shows Max Verstappen celebrating is fifth F1 race win at the 2018 Mexico GP, which took place at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez. He was only 21 years old at the time and was already in his fourth season of Formula One. Racing for the Red Bull Racing team he had qualified in P2 alongside his teammate Daniel Ricciardo on P1.

After beating Ricciardo off the line he fended off Hamilton, who had come from P3 on the grid, for the opening laps. He enjoyed a fairly straight forward race at the front of the pack, overtaking the Ferrari of Kimi Raikonnen after pitting for new tyres and gaining back the lead as Sebastian Vettel had his own pit stop. His teammte suffered an enginge failure on lap 62 of 71, securing the dutch man's second win of the 2018 season. Lewis Hamilton went on to finish 4th, which gave him the points to win his fifth Drivers World Championship.

The 2018 season was very mixed for Verstappen, he achieved 11 podium finishes including 2 race wins but also suffered 4 DNFs, including one incident in Azerrbaijan where he and team mate Daniel Ricciardo collided, causing both drivers to DNF. He finished 4th overall in the Drivers Championship, behind Hamilton, Vettel and Raikonnen and Red Bull Racing finished 3rd behind Mercedes and Ferrari.
